Fr Andreas Schöggl was born in Herzogsdorf , Oberösterreich, Austria. On September 10, 1993, he joined the novitiate of the Legionaries of Christ in Roetgen , Germany. He made his perpetual profession on October 5, 2001. He was ordained a priest on December 24, 2003, in Rome. He holds a license in philosophy and theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. From 1999 to 2000 he was a member of the formation team of the Center for Higher Studies of Rome. From 2003 to 2005 he served as dean of studies for theology at the same centre. Fr Andreas has held positions in the congregation’s general secretariat, first as head of the historical archives ( 2000-2003) and later as Communications Director for Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi (2005-2012). From 2005 to 2010 he worked in the German section of the Secretariat of State of the Holy See. In December, 2010 he was appointed as one of the secretaries of the central commission for the revision of the Legions’ constitutions. He served as territorial director of Western and Central Europe from March 2012 until August 2018, and is now in Rome as the General Secretary of the Regnum Christi Movement and the Legion of Christ.
